Andre Thompson
Dr. Andre L. Thompson has been a Materials Research Engineer working in the Fire Research Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology for the past 7 years. At NIST, he studies the type, prevalence, and concentration of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on firefighter gear. Prior to that he obtained his bachelor’s in chemistry at Morehouse College, his Masters and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, and was awarded into the National Research Council (NRC) Postdoctoral Program at NIST.
