Bruce Hamper
Dr. Bruce Hamper is an Emeritus Professor of Chemistry at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He began his career as an industrial scientist pursuing agricultural and medicinal chemistry at Monsanto, G.D. Searle, Pharmacia and Pfizer. His research interests include development of continuous flow chemistry and synthesis of bioactive compounds. In 2010, he joined the faculty at U. Missouri St. Louis as Teaching Professor. It was in this capacity that he helped develop a course for non-science majors using Beer Brewing as the topic of discussion. The Hamper research group is currently investigating continuous flow photochemistry and properties of hops derived natural products.
